Eileen E. Smith-Grant, Artist: New York, New York; The artist, Eileen Elizabeth Smith, was born in New York City on May 8, 1967. She is the daughter of artist Alvin Smith and the late Pauline J. Smith, an educator. Ms. Smith, a life long resident of New York City, also spent some of her formative years in Dayton, Ohio. Living in an artistic environment and exhibiting proclivity to express her inner most thoughts and feelings through art, she attended the Arts Students Leagues starting at the age of eleven. Ms. Smith has continued her art education at most of the prominent art schools in New York City, i.e. The School of Visual Arts, Parsons, and The New York Studio School. Ms. Smith received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1989. Presently Eileen Elizabeth Smith continues to create works that are daring and expressive. Viewers respond on an emotional level.
